Roger Hearn

Lectures in Disaster Management, Visiting Fellow Feinstein International Center, Tufts

Dr. Roger Hearn has held senior leadership positions in the United Nations and with a number of INGOs in a range of conflict affected countries including Syria, oPt, East Timor and Mozambique. As Regional Director for the Middle East and Eurasia with Save the Children, Roger oversaw humanitarian operations in 19 countries, including a half billion dollar Syria Regional Response. Roger was also Syria Director for UNRWA, the largest humanitarian agency operating in the country before and during the early stages of the conflict. He has previously worked as Regional Director for CARE International and as a Senior Researcher with WHO.

Roger has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Melbourne. He currently lectures in Disaster Management in Copenhagen and is a Visiting Fellow with the Feinstein International Center At Tufts University.
