Ruth Bergan

Coordinator of the Trade Justice Movement

Ruth Bergan is the Co-ordinator of the Trade Justice Movement, a UK national network that campaigns for socially and environmentally sustainable global trade. Ruth has led the strategic development of the organisation, tracking and responding to traditional trade policy issues, such as the EU’s Economic Partnership Agreement negotiations, and developing new areas of work. The latter include ‘Worried about your BITs?’, TJM’s campaign for a radical change to the international investment regime, and ensuring TJM was part of the ‘Economic Justice Project’ – providing activists with information and political education on the 2008 banking crisis. Before joining TJM Ruth worked for HomeWorkers Worldwide, for the Cooperative College and lived and worked in India. Ruth is also a CSLP fellow.
