Freelance policy advisor and researcher specialising in gender

Sandy Ruxton is a freelance policy advisor and researcher, specialising in gender (especially men and masculinities), children and families, and European social policy. He was consultant to the Open University project ' Beyond Male Role Models: Gender identities and work with young men'.

An Ambassador for the White Ribbon Campaign UK, he is a member of the steering group of the NGO alliance MenEngage Europe. Sandy has held various policy-related posts in the UK voluntary sector, most recently with Oxfam’s UK Poverty Programme. A trained teacher, he has also worked with boys and young men in schools, in the community and in prisons. His main publications are available here
