Sarah Ebner is an award winning journalist and author of the Starting School Survival Guide

Sarah Ebner has worked across newspapers, television and digital media. She is the current holder of the award for best commentary/blogging at the Online Media Awards, and also won the 2013 award for outstanding online commentary at the Education Journalism Awards. Both were for her Times education blog, School Gate, which was also named by the Washington Post as one of the 20 best education blogs in the world.
Sarah began her career as a graduate trainee on the Daily Express and has written for almost every national newspaper, as well as being a producer and occasional reporter on Newsnight. She has also been shortlisted four times at the British Press Awards.
She now works on The Times Sports desk where one of her jobs is to look after the very successful football blog, the game. Together with her children she writes Family Travel Times, which, as the name suggests, is all about family holidays and days out.
Sarah's interests range from politics and current affairs to theatre and sport. She was the first ever female sports columnist on her student newspaper whilst studying at the LSE and is the author of The Starting School Survival Guide: everything you need to know when your child starts primary school, published by White Ladder.
