Isar is an editor for Simorg fortnightly newspaper published by Afghans in London. He is also a Steering Group member for Transitions, a UK non-profit organisation which helps professional refugees into employment. Isar is a political economy professional with over 13 year overseas experience in banking, finance and development.

He is a writer and debater on political economy, finance and banking, and development policy issues. He worked in different key roles in a series of organizations including the Central Bank of Afghanistan, United States Agency for International Development, United Nations World Food Programme, and international charities such as the Catholic Relief Services, Acted, Afghanaid and Oxfam.
