Online, I am part of multiple communities, with people from all the different parts and ages of my life. As long as my phone is working, I am never alone

I am not a naturist, but I do wish that here in the UK we had a healthier relationship with nudity

A few days ago I received an email that repeatedly described the serious mental health crisis I had last year as me being 'delicate'

I’ve read lots recently and heard a lot of people speak IRL about the dangers and ills of social media. People tell me that

We men need to listen, we need to accept culpability and we need to stop ignoring the things that women tell us about their experiences. I'm sorry if me speaking about this is being listened to more than the words of ANY woman who has been unfairly ignored. But I think my silence, on this topic, would be as good as me denying the existence of the hashtag that's been shared by pretty much every woman I know.

My name is Scott Manley Hadley and I have recently had a breakdown. For a few weeks, I was suicidal. I made multiple plans for how I was going to end my life, and I made steps towards carrying out several of these plans. In the end, though, I never put myself in serious danger because I was too scared.

Reading Dark Chapter as a heterosexual male caused a lot of reflection. Toxic male sexuality, machismo, is something I do not like. Y'know, that pressure to behave in or tolerate certain behaviours and attitudes. It makes me uncomfortable, because this culture makes me worry that I - and most men like me - could probably get away with rape.

So why have I - a grumpy, balding, man whose poor sleeping habits have caused the speed of my ageing to accelerate during the tail end of my twenties - embraced the selfie? Because I get a masochistic kick out of watching myself decline, watching myself move towards death.

Why does society presume that women require the privacy and toilet paper of cubicles, but that men are fine without it? Why do trendy nightclubs presume men won't poo, especially when trendy nightclubs are filled with people on the kind of drugs that are regularly cut with laxatives?

White men are on top. But not any white men: Nigel Farage, Boris Johnson, Donald Trump and Bob "Literature" Dylan have one thing in common besides their gender, race and sexuality: they all have hair, or constantly pretend they do.

Do I keep my pubes impractically long because I don't want less hair, or because I don't want to spend time trimming? As a bald man, I'm objectively less attractive than I was with hair, despite (now) taking more pride in my appearance.

We still have bodily shame deeply entrenched within society, and - like all problems - the longer we do nothing to fix it, the harder doing so will become. When none of us know what is normal and all of us hide ourselves away, it's not a surprise that many men end up uncomfortable with their own sexuality.

Hey, fellas! I'm gonna mansplain something to y'all today. I'm gonna mansplain a) what feminism is and b) why it's good for you, me, and all the other dudes. Let's begin simply. Let me tell you what feminism is not

If a young woman has developed a coping strategy for street harassment, this means she needs one. I asked some female friends, and they all have them. They cross over roads when passing building sites, they take taxis to avoid bus stops, they fake phone calls, they wear headphones with no music on, they consider how likely street harassment is when choosing their clothes.

Bald prejudice is often a subtle mask for a different snap judgement, as many people presume that a man with a shaved head is one of two things: gay or racist...Men who shave their heads receive prejudice from both the socially liberal and the socially conservative, seeing us as a demon representative of something they abhor.

Being ready to shave my head proved to me that I had accepted I was losing my hair and could do nothing about it. But coming to terms with the new identity I'd have as a hairless man was to be a much harder struggle...

Most people my age are out drinking cocktails, playing crazy golf and squeezing every drop out of youth before real adulthood kicks in. Yet I'm at home, crying under a florescent light as I razor the stubble from the back and sides of my scalp.
