Shubnum Khan

Shubnum Khan is a South African author and artist. Her first novel, Onion Tears, about three generations of South African Indian Muslim women was shortlisted for the Penguin Prize for African Writing. In 2012 she was selected as the Mail & Guardian's 200 young South Africans. She is a writing fellow at Art Omi's Ledig House in New York and the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai. She has written for the Sunday Times, Marie Claire and O the Oprah magazine amongst others. She is currently working on her second novel.
