Director of the British Council in Ukraine

Simon Williams is Director of the British Council in Ukraine.

He joined the British Council in 1987 and has worked on education, public administration and civil society projects in Europe, Africa and the Commonwealth.

From 1995-2001 he served as Assistant Director with the British Council in Ukraine, and from 2004 to 2007 with the British Council in Russia.

He was appointed Director of the British Council in Kazakhstan in 2012, where he helped establish education as a core area of UK-Kazakhstan official and commercial collaboration, alongside other sectors such as oil and gas.
