Head of ChildLine at NSPCC

Sue initially trained as a Nursery Nurse and then ventured into social work as a residential social worker before working with NCH with young offenders in a residential setting. In 1987 having gained her social work qualification she joined the Peterborough NSPCC Child Protection Team, undertaking core child protection work, memorandum interviews with Police, risk assessments, court proceedings, therapeutic work, 24/7 duty. Sue gained an MA in Child Protection in 1997. Over the years she took on a number of roles, becoming a deputy in the team, a manager and then an Area Manager and a stint as an acting Divisional Director, working across several teams and areas. In 2007 she took on the newly created role of Head of ChildLine. She has a 17 year old daughter taking A levels and just learning to drive, and a 15 year old Xbox mad son.
