The year two thousand and sixteen (MMXVI) will no doubt be chiselled into the dusty, rich leathery books of history detailing contemporary plots, betrayals and deaths. Forget the busy schedule of the pale rider scooping up idiosyncratic superstars and claiming them for himself alongside Hades in the warm, dark underworld. The revolution is occurring without a drop of attention from any media outlet. Why?
Bob Dylan said it best, "the times they are a changing" and we must apparently blame the outpour of rage against the establishment for being the reason in which we are leaving the European Union. This intrigued me enough to venture covertly into the recent rally outside Westminster against leaving the European Union where liberals, academics and renaissance-hippy's shared the space with a unified goal; Keep Britain IN the E.U. But hasn't the vote being decided, the die cast, or perhaps we're witnessing an ugly rise in liberalism far away from its socialist roots.
"The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Workingmen of all countries, unite!"
I'm neither here nor there in regards to the European referendum I can see arguments from both sides and both sides also lied; contrary to the 'facts'. My only qualm was the entire '2nd referendum' act which, if Thatcher were alive, would grin her sinister teeth and bite the head off of each new-born within a two mile radius.
How can we show our democracy in a vote then ask for another based on the fact you didn't get what you wanted. I didn't want a Tory government, tuition fee rises and no rent caps but alas I am part of a democracy, as strained and corrupt as it is, yet its unfortunately one of the worlds best examples of egalitarianism in action.
We also have Blair's unforgiving plea to the public in his quest to find his soul yet all I can imagine is him wrapped in silk playing a church organ early in the morning dosing himself up on whatever pharmaceutical he's found today. Ultimately his quest for a soul reaches out to the rest of the Blairites and their failed chicken coup have they not read this god damned article?! This is a democracy if you attempt to perform the same botched political assassination Blair tried with Iraq you'll only receive the harsh whip from the members who put you there in the first place.
I find it oddly satisfying watching this ravenous change sweeping the establishment as the elite and bourgeoisie remember why they feared the common individual and kept them suppressed for so long. Because they are the few and we are the many. You can work out the rest.
