Women - You Are Just A Commodity

I for one am sure that here at least common sense should prevail as the likes of Anton Kreila minority and for the record - in this instance - his opinions will place him firmly in the top 1% again, only this time it's of the top undesirable men.

The title is not my opinion, I am proud to say, but that of Anton Kreil who deems himself worthy, by way of net-wealth, to qualify women as such.

Who's he? You ask - well Mr Kreil is a former city trader who appeared on ITV's This Morning recently to discuss his blog at www.squaremile.com in which he lists eight reasons why London's top 1% of earners should feel smug satisfaction from their elevated position; whilst the economy collapses around the rest of us.

Now I could write at length in the negative about Kreil's blog as a whole; because at no point does it come across as anything but a staggeringly arrogant, self-importance-fuelled stab in the heart to anyone but those he seeks to salute and encourage.

He craps on about how great it is to be in the highest income bracket and therefore maintain a self created god-like status above us mere peasants. This does at first make the blog read like a Positive-Mental-Attitude guide for overly wealthy twats and you would be forgiven for brushing it off as a lame joke.

But reach reason number seven of Kreil's-spiel and you find him giving much more direct and offensive opinions aimed squarely at women.

This is where his appearance on This Morningcomes in as he took this as an opportunity to defend his blog comments; specifically those towards women. Sat opposite Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby and with Psychologist Emma Kenny to his left, Kreil seemed to bob up and down on the sofa like an over excited child when questioned; conceding nothing to the fact that his comments were clearly ignorant and chauvinistic.

Attempting to defend them he repeatedly blurted out a mantra of how city guys work a 90-hour week and are so committed to their careers, that they just want to protect their cash from all the unworthy females they are apparently so likely to encounter.

With Phillip and Holly appearing lost for words and the lovely Miss Kenny looking like she was about to explode (having tried to set Kreil straight to the error of his opinions) the interview ended.

However the interview only just scraped the surface of how the blog clearly points to a need to 'commodify' women; reducing them to a status defined by quality and further for them to be seen generally as disposable.

Below are some of the comments from the blog:

"Your opportunities with the fairer sex will at least quadruple. If you are married, this means your wife will have to be nicer to you. If you are not married and you have a girlfriend then she will just have to treat you better."

"They (wives and girlfriends) will witness more single girls trying to hit on you and get very jealous and very worried."

"...a bad market will just present you with multiple opportunities to have fun. So do exactly that. Just go out and have fun, use them (women) and then dump them when they inevitably bore you."

There continues to be comments in response to the blog in its comment box and around the time of the interview, via Twitter, there were unfavourable responses. People both male and female, voiced their feelings towards Kreil and his ideologies, with a high percentage disapproving.

Supprisingly there were a few who sought to stamp out the flames by saying it was 'tongue in cheek' or 'just a laugh' Yet as this fool went on national television to defend himself, I just don't buy into those views - but take a look at the blog and the interview for yourself.

At a time when there is enough despondency and call-to-arms, right or wrong, over comments and opinions (whether they offend intentionally or not) with people seeking to assign them to right or left wing attitudes, rich or poor etc (witness the reaction to the Jeremy Clarkson 'shoot the strikers' furore) do we really need someone to start a battle of the 'sexes' over crap like this?

No...So I for one am sure that here at least common sense should prevail as the likes of Anton Kreil are a minority and for the record - in this instance - his opinions will place him firmly in the top 1% again, only this time it's of the top undesirable men.
