911 one of the biggest pop acts of the 90s and stars of ITV's The Big Reunion series and tour are returning to their Scottish roots to relight their pop career....I went to find out more.

The pop trio, Lee Brennan, Jimmy Constable and Spike Dawbarn, have teamed up with Scots pop supremo John McLaughlin to collaborate on new material for a brand new album entitled Illuminate, their first release since their split in 2000.

McLaughlin, who penned some of 911's biggest hits including Bodyshakin', Love Sensation and Don't Make Me Wait, has also worked with Busted, Westlife and Blue, amongst many others.

Writing and recording of Illuminate took place at McLaughlin's Central Sounds Studio in Glasgow and saw the boy band return to the country which launched their career in the mid 90s and led to a pop career selling millions of records around the world and sell-out tours.

Most recently, 911 have experienced a pop revival as part of ITV's reality series, The Big Reunion, and are currently touring the UK in a sell-out tour alongside the other acts featured including 5ive, Atomic Kitten and B*witched.

911's Jimmy Constable is thrilled to be back recording with 911: "We're so happy to sign our new record deal and release our new album Illuminate this year. It's fantastic to be working with wee John McLaughlin and the original 911 team again, all back in Glasgow where we started. Scotland's our spiritual home and home of the hits and we can't wait to share the new music with our fans."

Songwriter and producer, John McLaughlin, adds: "911 are the band who gave me my first hit so I've always had a soft spot for them. Back then, it was a real team effort, we were like a wee gang on a mission to break the charts, which we did.

"It's a real pleasure to be working with the 911 lads again. We're right back to where we left off and already have a cracking sets of songs recorded which I know the fans will love! We're back to the future...!"

911's new album Illuminate will be released later this year.
