The Making of a Dolce&Gabbana Menswear Show - A True Fantasy

The Making of a Dolce&Gabbana Menswear Show - A True Fantasy

From backstage to catwalk, follow the journey of film producer, Leandro Manuel Emede, who last January made and got the best out of his insider status at the Dolce&Gabbana AW11 fashion show. He shot his eccentric view of a fashion menswear performance signed Dolce&Gabbana.

Even if we are used to watch behind the scenes videos and live streaming fashion moments, Leandro Manuel Emede's short movie is s great surprise to us all. This producer translates perfectly the unique atmosphere that reigns backstage and in the studio during the days and hours that precede the opening of the curtain. No chronologically order imposed, this pictured tale has neither a beginning nor an end. Quick shots appear like memory flashes, one calling another. Far from being a how it all happened, it is really about how it did feel when it happened.

Look through the eyes of the wearers, the assistants, and the designers and you will understand the preciousness of this moment when everything is at stake. Thie short movie could be the retrospective brief. Six month of work takes shape through the lenses of someone who has got the point of what fashion really is. It is about the making not the looking. Thanks to this young producer, talent is celebrated and replaced at the forefront.

For anyone who knows and appreciates Domenico and Stefano's set ups, the drama is there, the garments are aligned and big models names are written on rags. As for the collection, the theme is tailored eccentricity so forget boring sobriety with faux fur and military fabrics to lead the way starring a 2011 Mob men Made in Italy. Sequins, brocades and red velvet silhouettes appear like rays of lights and underline the action speed.

No time to think, get it on - get him go - check him, as you know. And for us to "Enjoy the show".
