Seven Reasons Why You Will Never Be Successful

If you don't have self-belief, you allow others to distort your perceptions. Self-belief is the main pillar of success. Successful people have indestructible self-belief. If you live by limiting beliefs, you will keep your world small and safe.

Why do some people succeed while others don't?

JK Rowling, Oprah, Simon Cowell, Russell Brand, Beyoncé..

How come these guys are so successful?

How do you explain when others are able to achieve great things that seem to defy all of the assumptions?

Why is Simon Cowell so successful with his TV shows and why has Oprah been consistently successful for 25 years? They both have the same amount of airtime as other TV series? Why is JK Rowling so successful? She had the same publishers and the same agents as several other authors? Why is it that Martin Luther King led the civil rights movement? He wasn't the only man who suffered in pre civil rights in America and he wasn't the only great orator in the day? Why him?

Many are better qualified, and more talented, and yet they don't always become successful?

There's something else at play here wouldn't you agree?

I have spent many years researching, studying and interviewing successful people and what I discovered profoundly changed my view on how I thought the world worked and changed my view on how I operate.

Here are 7 reasons why you will never be successful.

1. You don't have self - belief

If you don't have self-belief, you allow others to distort your perceptions. Self-belief is the main pillar of success. Successful people have indestructible self-belief. If you live by limiting beliefs, you will keep your world small and safe. Is that using your innate inner strengths and assets to the fullest of your potential? No way. It is living in fear and self-imposed limitation. If you believe you will fail, your subconscious mind will gather evidence to support that. Dream big, but keep your feet firmly on the ground. Anything is possible when you believe in yourself.

2. You procrastinate

You may have too many items on your to-do list which will lead to overwhelm which will then lead to procrastination. Your brain will go on strike and refuse to cooperate with a schedule that is unreasonable. Successful people prioritize by eliminating, delegating and negotiating. They delegate tasks to others and reach out for help when necessary so they can free up time for what's really important. You have to press the pause button, reassess your true priorities, and simplify.

3. You are not consistent

Developing the habit of consistency is essential if you want to achieve success. Successful people know there are no shortcuts to any place worth going. They believe' the show must go on'. They do not quit or collapse at the first sign of trouble; they keep going and they don't make statements such as 'that isn't possible'. They stay open to whatever route they need to take to get to where they want to be. Keep focused on your strengths. You do not have to be good at everything. Stay positive and ask yourself what your personal level of commitment is to achieving success.

4. You are afraid of rejection

Successful people understand that others opinions are just that, they are opinions, not facts. JK Rowling and Oprah were told many times they wouldn't make it. Thank God they didn't listen to the fools that said that otherwise we wouldn't have been able to enjoy their amazing talents. Fear -- your Ego -- is what dominates your actions which is a crash course to disaster. Many people get jealous when talent is presented to them as they feel insecure; say to yourself, some will, some won't, so what? I am now freed up for better opportunities that will present themselves.

5. You don't have gratitude in your attitude.

Why would the universe bring us more if we are not grateful for what we have? Successful people are always thankful for what they have. My father lost his leg in an accident and I never heard him ever complain. He was always grateful for every tiny thing, always cheerful. If it's the only thing you do- write down 5 things a day in a gratitude journal for 30 days and I promise you magical things will happen.

6. You are not focused

You don't have specific goals, so you are not clear. You'll never reach a vague goal because you'll never know if you've completed it. If your year is directionless, you will drift through without impacting much. But if you focus your year on a few key goals, you can make a powerful impact. Successful people know that the more focused they are the more effective they will be. Write a 12 month life plan.

7. You shirk responsibility

Every single choice and decision we make has a consequence. Successful people take responsibility for their thoughts, actions, feelings, beliefs and decisions. They don't blame other people when things go wrong. If they are late to an appointment they don't go into the victim role by blaming the traffic, they admit that they didn't allow enough time to arrive at the destination. They believe they are the captain of their soul and the master of their fate. Empower yourself by being accountable for everything that happens in your life.

I write articles to inspire and motivate people and I have learned from successful people that the goal is not to be who people want you to be the goal is to be who you are. You have to learn to have indestructible self belief in your passions, values, thoughts, opinions and as Nike says 'JUST DO IT'.
