Ariana Grande Shares Tribute To Mac Miller As Stars Attend Memorial Concert

Although she wasn’t in attendance, Ariana posted her own simple tribute on Instagram.

Ariana Grande shared a tribute to her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, as stars gathered to celebrate his life at a special memorial concert.

Although Ariana was not believed to be in attendance at the event, which was held in Mac’s memory at the Greek Theater in LA on Wednesday night, she mark the occasion with a post on her Instagram story.

The singer posted a picture of herself wearing a hoodie emblazoned with the words “I am not a rapper”, which Mac had previously been seen wearing.

Mac’s dog, Myron, was also in the shot, as Ariana has been looking after him since her ex’s death.

Stars including Pharrell Williams and John Mayer gathered at the concert, which included performances, video tributes from fellow musicians and home videos from his childhood.

John played a cover of Mac’s recent single ‘Small Worlds’, dedicating it to him.

He said: “I saw Mac play this at Hotel Cafe a couple months ago, and he got onstage and he said he was really nervous. And now, Mac, I’m really nervous. So we got that in common too. This one’s for you.”

Pharrell also shared some words, saying: “Listening to all of your recent music, you really were using your voice. It’s amazing. The world misses you bro, rest easy. Definitely in peace.”

Childish Gambino added: “Thank you, Mac, for sharing your soul and your beauty with us, especially your love of music. Thank you for sharing that with us.

“You were a really necessary and intelligent light and I’m really glad we met, I’m glad you made music and to all the Mac fans out there, thank you for joining him and being part of his journey.”

A spokesperson for Ariana recently revealed that she would be “taking some time to mend and heal” after what were described as the “events of the past couple of years”.

She previously shared a heartfelt tribute to Mac, after he was found dead at his home in September, at the age of 26.

She wrote: “I adored you from the day I met you when I was nineteen and I always will.

“I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this. So many times.

“I’m so mad, I’m so sad I don’t know what to do. You were my dearest friend. For so long. Above anything else.

“I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re okay now. rest.”

Ariana and Mac began dating in August 2016, shortly after which she was featured on his track ‘My Favourite Part’.

They split in May this year, with Ariana going on to get engaged to comedian Pete Davidson, who she has since split from.
