Ariana Grande is being sued for allegedly posting a photographer’s pictures to her Instagram account, legal documents reveal.
The star is being accused of copyright infringement by Robert Barbera, according to a lawsuit filed in New York.
Robert, a professional photographer, says Ariana never asked permission to use two of his pictures and never paid for them.
The photographs in question shows Ariana, dressed in an over-sized jumper and thigh-high boots, carrying a see-through bag bearing the name of her fourth studio album, Sweetener.
She posted them to her account on August 17 last year, the day the album was released, with the caption: “Happy sweetener day.”
Ariana has since deleted the post, but according to the lawsuit it was ‘liked’ 3,392,035 times.
With 154 million followers, Ariana is the most-followed woman on Instagram.
Robert is seeking damages of up to $25,000 (£19,000) for each of the two pictures.
Ariana is yet to respond to the lawsuit. HuffPost UK has contacted her representative for comment.
The 7 Rings singer is currently on her 81-date Sweetener world tour, which will come to the UK and Ireland in August and September.
Last month, she spoke candidly about the effects of touring, stating that she doesn’t think it’s good for her health.
“Making it is healing. Performing it is like reliving it all over again and it is hell,” Ariana tweeted, before deleting the post.
Fans then rushed to social media to insist she didn’t need to continue with her worldwide Sweetener tour.
However, whilst Ariana admitted she was “confused and tired”, she insisted she “won’t do that.”
