Asda Recalls Vegetarian Vegetable Burgers Over 'Pieces Of Plastic' Fears

Customers have been warned not to eat the product.

Asda has recalled some of its veggie burgers over fears they could contain "pieces of hard green plastic".

The Food Standards Agency said on its site: "Asda is recalling its Asda 4 Vegetarian Vegetable Burgers with a ‘best before’ date of 6 April 2017 because the products may contain pieces of hard green plastic.

"This means these products are a possible risk to health."

No other Asda products are known to be affected.

Any customers who have purchased the product are warned not to eat it.

They should instead return it to their nearest Asda store for a full refund or call customer relations on 0800 952 0101.

Last month the chain recalled a pasta salad over fear it could contain salmonella, according to the Daily Mirror.

The bacterium can cause severe food poisoning and even death.
