All bodies should be celebrated ๐Ÿ™Œ

Ashley Graham made a guest appearance on ITVโ€™s โ€™Lorraineโ€™ to speak about body diversity in the fashion industry.

The model who has starred on the covers of Vogue and Elle, to name but a few, told Lorraine Kelly: โ€œIโ€™ve had a lot of people tell me youโ€™re not going to make it, youโ€™re fat.โ€

Designers like Christian Siriano and Prabal Gurung championed body diversity at New York Fashion Week, but more can still be done to make the fashion industry more inclusive.

Although designers are not as fixated on making garments for tiny women as they used to be, there is always a danger of empty talk in order to please the masses.

In February, Graham walked for Michael Kors at New York Fashion Week and she returned to his runway during the SS18 New York Fashion Week this September, when she also walked for Gurung.

She told Lorraine sheโ€™s glad designers brought back curve models for another season.

โ€œThere wasnโ€™t just this tokenism of having us in February,โ€ she said, โ€œthey brought us back in September.โ€

This repeated use of curve models has huge implications for the industry.

It shows that women with fuller figures donโ€™t just merit being dressed by designers, but should also be celebrated - as everyone should.
