Beyoncé On The Book We Should All Be Reading: 'It Will Inspire You To Become A Better Leader'

It's certainly empowering.

Queen Bey has revealed the one book we should all be reading.

In an interview with Garage magazine, Beyoncé said that she'd love for her fans to read 'What Will It Take To Make A Woman President?' by author Marianne Schnall.

"It's a collection of interviews and essays by great women, including Maya Angelou, Gloria Steinem, and Melissa Etheridge," the singer explained.

"They will inspire you to become a better leader."

'What Will It Take To Make A Woman President?' was originally published in 2013.

The book was inspired by Marianne Schnall's eight-year-old daughter, who asked her mum during the 2008 US election: "Why haven't we ever had a woman president?"

Schnall, who is also the executive director of Feminist.com, set out to find the answer to her daughter's question by gathering viewpoints from influential people.

The book features interviews with politicians, public officials, thought leaders, writers, artists, and activists "in an attempt to discover the obstacles that have held women back and what needs to change in order to elect a woman into the White House".

Sheryl Sandberg, Maya Angelou and Gloria Steinem are among many who share their thoughts on the provocative issues involving women, politics and power.

The aim is to encourage women and girls to be leaders in "their lives, their communities and the larger world".

The paperback version is available to buy from Amazon for £11.99.

We'll definitely be adding it to our reading list...
