The ‘Big Brother’ house opened its doors for the final time on Friday night.

A batch of 14 new housemates moved into the famous TV abode during the live launch, just hours after Channel 5 announced they had axed the show and its celebrity counterpart.

The final series - or at least the last to air with the broadcaster - will see the show return to its “social experiment roots”, and introduced viewers to a diverse cast of contestants.

The line-up is made up of a cleaner, a carer, a bricklayer and graphic designer among others, and for the first time in several years, there are no housemates who’ve had a significant brush with fame.

They will now live in the confines of the ‘BB’ house for the next 53 days, before one of them is crowned the last-ever winner of the iconic reality show.
