A rapist who vaulted out of the dock and fled a packed courtroom just seconds after being convicted has handed himself in to police.

Bradley Tout had been on the run since last Wednesday after being unanimously found guilty of a sex attack against a teenage girl at Worcester Crown Court.

West Mercia Police said he remains in custody.

The 20-year-old was sentenced in his absence, to seven-and-a-half years in a young offenders’ institute for his crime. His co-defendant, Kulin Odedra, 28, was sentenced to 11-and-a-half years in prison for his role.

Tout reportedly crashed into a wall after scaling the three-foot barrier in the dock during his escape as his relatives proclaimed: “He’s innocent!”

He then ran past astonished members of the jury, lawyers and reporters before fleeing the building.

A private security guard working for contractor GeoAmey was injured during the incident.

Local newspaper, Worcester News, reported that one heavy-set guard initially ran the wrong way after giving chase to Tout before being re-directed by a stunned barrister.
