Brian McFadden Drops Partner In Botched Dancing On Ice Routine

Oops!

While it was Gemma Collins who became the unlucky one to leave Dancing On Ice on Sunday, spare a thought for Brian McFadden’s partner Alex Murphy.

The former Westlife singer dropped her on the ice during a botched routine on the ITV skating show.

Brian had struggled with a lift during their performance to Believer by Imagine Dragons, which left Alex hurtling towards the ground.

However, Brian had a good excuse for not being on top form, having been battling a painful back injury in the lead-up to his latest routine.

At one point, it was unclear if he would even be able to take to the ice on Sunday’s show.

After his blunder, he told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: “To be honest with you I have to thank our physio here Sharon. I wasn’t walking Monday, Tuesday Wednesday.

“And Alex, she’s been unbelievable.”

Phil then joked: “And then you dropped her!”

Of course, it is not the biggest gaffe to air on this year’s series of Dancing On Ice.

That honour belongs to The GC, who now infamously fell flat on her face after coming a cropper live on air last month.

She became the fifth celebrity to leave the competition on Sunday, after landing in the bottom two for the first time.

After a skate-off with cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, all four judges – Jason Gardiner, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean – opted to save Ryan and partner Brandee Malto.

Jason couldn’t resist one last dig at Gemma, who he famously had an on-air spat with earlier in the series, remarking: “It is very easy for me to say this and it gives me great pleasure to say it that I will be saving Ryan and Brandee.”

Dancing On Ice continues next Sunday at 6pm on ITV with a double elimination.
