Cambridge IVF Offers New Hope For UK Couples

The extendedmaternity hospital at the Addenbrooke's site in Cambridge is something that I have mentioned before, and whilst there is undoubtedly a huge buzz in the area around its opening towards the end of June, the sad fact is, that for many couples, the chances of them ever welcoming in their own child there are quite small.

The extended Rosie maternity hospital at the Addenbrooke's site in Cambridge is something that I have mentioned before, and whilst there is undoubtedly a huge buzz in the area around its opening towards the end of June, the sad fact is, that for many couples, the chances of them ever welcoming in their own child there are quite small.

There are a number of reasons why hopeful parents might be referred for IVF treatment, however, regardless of the avenue, the process is costly and offers, on average, a success rate of 33% for women under the age 35; less for older patients. It is of paramount importance, therefore, that couples chose the right clinic for them and that the information provided, both reassures them about the capabilities of clinicians, and ensures that they are aware of exactly how the process works.

Drawing on the vast knowledge and world-class skills of doctors and scientists in Cambridge, and with support from Cambridge University Hospitals, the city's new IVF centre is offering some of the best hope for assisted conception in the UK.

Facilities in and around the Cambridge University Hospitals family have a reputation to uphold as one Britain's best performing NHS trusts, and as such, the care provided by lead consultant Raj Mathur and his team is predicted to be exceptional.

Dr Mathur says of the centre:

"Our priority is to help you have a healthy baby. We've put together an excellent team of people who are focused on achieving this, while our laboratory is equipped with the best latest technology."

It is still relatively early days for Cambridge IVF, but with the centre already reporting a healthy track record of ongoing pregnancies, it would appear as though the region has once again nominated itself as an international leader in patient care; encouraging news amongst the relative negativity of recent UK healthcare news.
