Catford Care Home Death: Man Charged With Murder After Woman In Her 90s Fatally Attacked

The incident took place at a care home in south-east London in the early hours of Monday morning.

A 62-year-old man has been charged with murdering a woman in her 90s in a care home in Catford.

Police were called to the care home in Canadian Avenue in the early hours of Monday, 4 January to reports of an assault.

A woman in her 90s was taken to hospital where she later died. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course and her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

On the same day, Alexander Rawson, 62, of Canadian Avenue, was charged with murder and will appear at Bexleyheath Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Both Rawson and the victim were residents of the care home.
