Rylan Clark-Neal has spoken about his experience as a contestant on this year’s series of Celebrity Apprentice, admitting that the filming process was among the “worst three days of his life”.
In 2012, Rylan rose to prominence as a hopeful on The X Factor, before going on to win Celebrity Big Brother a month after being booted off the ITV singing contest.
His popularity on CBB led to him forging a career as a TV personality, but as part of this year’s Comic Relief, he made a return to reality television as a candidate on Celebrity Apprentice.
However, it seems the experience wasn’t one that agreed with Rylan.
He recalled to OK! magazine: “The Apprentice was potentially the worst three days of my life.
“You’re only allowed to do certain things at certain times, which is obviously what makes a TV show. It was like I was a contestant on The X Factor again where you’re not in control.”
Rylan continued: “I’ve worked so hard for the last seven years to be in control of when I go for a wee. And to be told I can’t go for a wee yet... I just found it really difficult!”
Already one of the most ridiculous shows on television, introducing a load of famous people into the mix did little to make The Apprentice any more sensible, when the new series of Celebrity Apprentice aired last week.
Among the stand-out moments were Rylan being visibly stunned by comedian Omid Djalil performing a naked dance with balloons during a cabaret show, and Lord Sugar’s aide Claude Littner’s enthusiasm at dancing in a conga line.
In addition to the return of Celebrity Apprentice after a 10-year absence, a number of other stars have thrown themselves into fundraising for Comic Relief this year.
