Great British Bake Off: Krishnan Guru-Murthy Suffers A Disastrous Day In The Celebrity Version

Who was to blame – Krishnan or Sandi? They jury's out.

Krishnan Guru-Murthy is the latest celebrity to come unstuck in the Great British Bake Off tent, suffering a cake-related disaster during Tuesday night’s show.

The Channel 4 journalist was midway through baking a lemon drizzle cake, when the dreaded time came to flip the bake over.

Luckily, Sandi Toksvig was on hand to help. Two pairs of hands are better than one, right? No, actually.

Sandi took charge of turning over the cake, placing one of her hands on the wire rack while Krishnan held onto the tray it was resting on.

Unfortunately, their co-ordination was a little off, and someone – we’re not going to play the blame game – dropped the cake.

Watch the moment below and decide for yourself who was at fault:

“You let go!” Sandi said immediately. “Okay, I’m going to go now…”

Tweeting after the show aired, Krishnan added: “This was clearly my fault. It was a trap. I fell into it.”

The show also featured a biscuit round with each of the the celebs given the task of making sweet treats that looked like themselves.

Sadly, Krishan didn’t do much better at this:

Oh dear.

These aren’t the biggest disasters the Bake Off tent has seen though and earlier in the celebrity series, Rylan Clark-Neal had a total ’mare when he attempted to make an Ibiza-themed cake.

Russell Brand also left the judges speechless with a cake inspired by the birth of his youngest daughter. And by “inspired by the birth” we mean that it depicted the very moment she came into the world.
