Labour MP Diane Abbott has apologised after a photograph was circulated of her drinking a can of mojito on London public transport.

But people on social media think it’s hilarious and have said there’s no need for the shadow home secretary to apologise and even said she was deserving of “a couple of tinnies” and described her as a “legend.”

The photograph emerged of the Labour frontbencher sipping out of the £2 can of M&S mojito and Abbott apologised profusely on Twitter following its revelation.

Transport for London introduced an alcohol ban on all public transport in the capital city in 2008.

However, the reaction on social media shows people either just don’t care about what say describe as something “trivial” – and some even say the mojito drinking has elevated Abbott in their eyes and made her more relatable to people.

However, some people have condemned the MP for her rule-breaking on the overground.
