Beautiful Photos Of Babies With Down's Syndrome Captured For Charity Calendar

Aren't they adorable?

Two babies with Down's syndrome have been photographed alongside naked midwives for a calender to raise funds for charity.

Jo Proud, a midwife who runs Miracle in Progress, a pregnancy service and scanning clinic, was the brains behind the idea.

"I took my midwife staff out for Christmas and we all sat talking about doing a charity event and then came up with a calendar girl shoot calendar," Proud, who took part in the shoot, told The Huffington Post UK.

The calendar features two girls with Down's syndrome - eight-month-old Eliza, with her mum Hannah Bramley, and 14-month-old Jorja, with her mum Julia Newton Winfield.

"I chose to raise money for the Down's Syndrome Association because I have recently cared for two women who gave birth to the little girls in the calendar," Proud continued.

"They were both born with the condition and wasn't detected in the pregnancy.

"Myself and Katie - another midwife in the shoot - had a high risk result of having a baby with Down's syndrome so I felt it would be a lovely charity to donate too."

Proud said the shoot, photographed by Julie Moult, was nerve-racking.

"To say we were all nervous was an understatement," Proud said.

"Worried about stretch marks, being overweight and not having the perfect body.

"Then the amazing babies joined us - one who has had major heart surgery and wow did they smile for the camera - even their mummys joined in.

"We are really hoping that we can get as much awareness out as possible, every penny is donated to the charity."

At the time of writing, they had sold 130 calendars worldwide, but hope the reach will increase even further.
