Dua Lipa 'Sends Love' After Fans Were Seen Being Forcibly Removed From Her Show In Shanghai

'I would love to come back when the time is right, and hopefully see a room full of rainbows.'

Dua Lipa has posted a statement after her concert in Shanghai made headlines when fans were forcibly removed from the venue.

Shocking footage recorded during Dua’s first ever show in China showed security intervening and using physical force on several fans in the crowd, with some claiming this was due to them having been waving pride flags during her set, and others suggesting it was because they were dancing.

In a tweet, Dua wrote that she had done the show “for her fans”, saying: “I stood by them, sang with them and danced with them.

“I will stand by you all for your love and beliefs and I am proud and grateful that you felt safe enough to show your pride at my show. What you did takes a lot of bravery.”

She continued: “I always want my music to bring strength, hope and unity. I was horrified by what happened and I send love to all my fans involved.”

Dua noted that she would be happy to play another show in Shanghai “when the time is right”, adding that she would hope to see “a room full of rainbows”.

Towards the end of the show, an emotional Dua told the crowd: “I want to create a really safe environment for us all to have fun, and for us all to dance and us all to sing. And just have a really good time.

“We’re not here for very much longer, we have only a few more songs, and I would love for these last few songs for us all to really, really enjoy ourselves.”
