Jonny Labey has played Paul Coker since June 2015.

Albert Square will be losing one of its young faces, with confirmation that actor Jonny Labey, who plays Paul Coker, will be leaving 'EastEnders'.

Jonny is already confirmed to play poet Rupert Brooke in a new Edinburgh stage production 'Verge of Strife' later this year.

An 'EastEnders' spokesperson told RadioTimes.com: "We can confirm Jonny will be leaving the show later this year. We wish him all the best for the future."

Judging by their history, the soap's scriptwriters won't be letting Paul Coker leave the square with a whimper when a bang is an option, so viewers can expect his character to have some pretty turbulent storylines in the coming months. Paul and Ben Mitchell will be going public with their secret romance, but neither Ben's dad Phil nor Paul's gran Pam will be happy about it. Expect fireworks.
