‘EastEnders’ Spoilers: Colin Russel's Back! First Look As Lord Michael Cashman Reprises Role

Longtime ‘EastEnders’ fans will be getting a blast from the last in tonight’s (Thursday 8 September) episode, when Colin Russell returns to Walford.

Lord Michael Cashman has reprised for the character for a very short, two-episode stint and while bosses are keeping schtum on what will happen during his time in the Square, we do know that he’ll be visiting Dot Cotton.

Colin’s arrival will come as a surprise to the Walford veteran, and he is set to raise a big question for her.

When his return was announced, Michael shared his excitement, stating: “It was a real joy, indeed a privilege, to return to my old home of Albert Square.

“To be amongst so many friends again, and to be back in the place where 30 years ago I started an amazing journey. An amazing journey which incredibly helped to change the country, and certainly its attitude to lesbian gay and bisexual people.”

In 1987, Michael made soap history when his character shared a kiss with Barry Clark, which was the first gay kiss to be screened on prime time British television.

The scene was viewed by over 17 million viewers, and when he left the soap two years later, Michael co-founded Stonewall.
