The sun is starting to creep it's way back out from behind the clouds and now is when people start to really take notice of their bodies with the layers and layers of Winter clothes starting to come off. Unfortunately people start to look for quick fixes on how to suddenly look amazing for the summer and I am here to tell you that there is no quick fix but start on your health journey now and you can still look amazing with these tips below:

1. Exercise

Sounds simple and it is simple, exercising daily will help to burn calories, increase blood and oxygen flow throughout the body, release endorphins into the system and generally make you feel good. I find it is important to do exercise you enjoy and not to do it because you feel you have to. Don't worry if you are not a fan of the gym, how about a class or swimming or going for a run outside. At the end of the day exercise is exercise and if you have fun doing it then you will want to do it which will be healthier for your body.

2. Eat well

Probably the most important of all because what you put into your body will ultimately determine how your body looks. There is a vast amount of information available to people now so that they can get more help as to what to eat. The problem however is this vast info is confusing as there is a lot of contradictory information out there. So I say to simply do not cut out a particular macro nutrientt as they all have their uses (protein, fat, carbs), never miss a meal, avoid processed foods and trans-fats. Eat more vegetables, fruits, meats, nuts and you will be fulfilled and energised.

3. Sleep

So many people do not get a full nights sleep any more and it is so important to. This is down to increased stress and also the use of technology at bedtime. You need to let your body naturally shut down at night so read a book in bed and not Facebook. While you are sleeping many chemical changes occur in the body and depriving the body of this will reduce the chances of you getting the good body you want.

4. Hydrate

It is surprising the amount of people that do not drink enough water each day. Staying hydrated throughout the day is vital for good health as it flushes out toxins from the body, keeps the skin in good condition. Around 60-70% of the body is water so it is vital to keep levels topped up. Aiming to drink water throughout the day can also help prevent cravings when you suddenly feel hungry so water consumption can have a huge impact on your calorie intake. Water helps the body to run normally stopping dehydration which would result in low energy. The body loses water throughout the day through heat, sweat etc. So keeping levels up is vital for good health.

5. Control stress

This is an area that is increasing more and more in modern day life. Depression is becoming more common and conditions such as IBS now affects a large number of the population. Almost all diseases and conditions are a result of stress on the body so it is important this is controlled. In terms of getting a good body a high stress will mean a higher level of cortisol which is a stress hormone and that can lead to fat storage. Controlling stress is linked to the points above eating good foods, exercising regularly, sleeping enough etc. Otherwise meditation and relaxation techniques works wonders for stress, it can take a lot of practice but your health is worth it.

So there you have it, without focussing on these five areas you will not get a good healthy body. It is not hard work just take things one day at a time and aim to make improvements each time and you will notice a massive change in your body and mind. Now get started on that dream body you want!
