The team behind Game Of Thrones has been quick to digitally edit a scene in the most recent episode, in which a coffee cup was visible in front of Daenerys Targaryen.

However, it’s now been reported that the show’s fast-moving digital team have already edited out the offending drink for streaming service HBO Go’s version of the episode…

Several members of the show’s cast and crew have spoken out about the coffee blunder since the episode first went out in the US on Sunday night, including Game Of Thrones art director Hauke Ritcher.

He told Variety: “Things can get forgotten on set… it’s so blown out of proportion [because] it has not happened with Thrones so far.”

Executive producer Bernie Caulfield later said: “If that’s the worst thing [that viewers are] finding, then we’re in good shape.”

Making light of the gaffe, HBO said in their own statement: “The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.”

And, of course, with all eyes on them, Starbucks had to say something on social media too (even though it later transpired that the coffee in question was an unbranded one from a coffee shop near where Game Of Thrones is filmed in Northern Ireland)...

Just two episodes remain in the current series of Game Of Thrones, which concludes after eight series later this month.
