Former Dancing On Ice Star Gemma Collins Blasts Rumours She Might Miss Grand Finale

"I wouldn't miss it for the world."

Gemma Collins has assured fans that she’ll be putting in one final performance on Dancing On Ice at this year’s final, despite rumours to the contrary.

On Saturday, The Sun ran a story suggesting that Gemma had left bosses “fearing she’d miss the final”, as she was supposedly planning a trip to Thailand around the time that training for the last episode of the series was due to begin.

However, as has been the case pretty much throughout the series, Gemma posted an update on Instagram to let her fans know that the rumours were untrue.

Alongside an old clip of herself falling over in rehearsals, dragging professional skating partner Matt Evers down with her, Gemma said: “Guys don’t worry... despite all the rumours I’m definitely BACK for the FINALS. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

She added: “Can’t wait to see who wins. GC will be skating one last time. See y’all next Sunday.”

Without question, Gemma has been the biggest talking point of this year’s Dancing On Ice, repeatedly having to dismiss reports of supposed behaviour, as well as making headlines with her various disagreements with judge Jason Gardiner.

She eventually became the fifth celebrity eliminated from the competition last month, admitting that while she was in no mood to pursue skating in the future, she’d overall enjoyed her experience.

Last week saw the shock elimination of former Pussycat Dolls performer Melody Thornton, who told BUILD about her experiences of having to rise above “drama” in the competition.

She said: “I think it comes with the territory, you know. You’re gonna have some people that are super committed and wanting to be the best ice dancer… [and] there will always be people that are like, ‘I’m not going to commit as much but I’m a star in a different way, and this is what I do’.

“And you kind of have to respect it.”

Her departure leaves James Jordan, Wes Nelson, Saara Aalto and Brian McFadden to battle it out in the Dancing On Ice semi-final, airing at 6pm on ITV.
