George Osborne has published his tax return for the last financial year as pressure mounted on MPs to come clean about their personal finances.
The detail - released as David Cameron faced MPs about his own previous offshore investments - showed a total taxable income of £198,738, including £44,647 in the form of dividends and rental income of £33,562.
The Chancellor paid income tax of £72,210.
Mr Cameron told the Commons that the same transparency should not be expected of all MPs, but suggested it should apply to Opposition leaders and shadow chancellors.
