Geri Horner Says We Need To Get Rid Of Pressure On New Mums To 'Snap Back' To Pre-Baby Weight

And we totally agree ๐Ÿ™Œ

Geri Horner has said we need to get rid of the pressure on women to โ€œbounce backโ€ after theyโ€™ve had a baby, and we couldnโ€™t agree more.

The 44-year-old former Spice Girl, who gave birth to her second child, Monty, in January 2017, said itโ€™s โ€œnot fairโ€ on new mums.

โ€œI think we need to take the pressure off women about how they look and bouncing back after baby weight,โ€ she told The Mirror on Monday 19 June.

โ€œItโ€™s not fair, and Iโ€™m questioning how helpful it is to say to women: โ€˜Omg youโ€™ve just gone and snapped backโ€™. Every single body is different.โ€

Horner is also mum to 10-year-old Bluebell Madonna from a previous relationship and her husband Christian is also dad to three-year-old Olivia.

The mum continued: โ€œWomen go through so much, looking after themselves, looking after their families, getting their legs waxed, being a good wife, girlfriend... so many plates to spin.

โ€œWhether youโ€™re a giraffe, a hippo or a flamingo, youโ€™re ok.โ€

Horner said since giving birth to her son Monty, sheโ€™s been doing a gentle amount of yoga, but despite losing some of her baby weight, she wants mums to know: โ€œYouโ€™re enoughโ€.

The mum has recently released her first solo track in 12 years - Angels In Chains - as a tribute to George Michael.

Horner isnโ€™t the only celebrity mum who believes mums donโ€™t need to โ€œbounce backโ€.

Paddy McGuinessโ€™ wife, Christine, said being a mum taught her to love her body, no matter what the size.

In a blog for HuffPost UKโ€™s โ€˜Mumbodโ€™ project, she wrote: โ€œBecoming a mum taught me to respect and appreciate my body no matter what it looks like.

โ€œIโ€™m so proud of what I have achieved, Iโ€™m loving my body more each day for giving me my three wonderful children.

โ€œBecoming mum was becoming me.โ€
