If you don’t have access to an owl, you can still add a little magic to your letters this autumn with these new Harry Potter stamps.
Royal Mail has teamed up with Warner Bros to release 15 special stamps guaranteed to delight Muggles obsessed with the Wizarding World.
The new stamps feature some of the most iconic characters from the Harry Potter films including Harry himself, Hermione Granger, Ron and Ginny Weasley and Neville Longbottom.
Also appearing in the set is the Triwizard Cup and some of the magical modes of transport used in the films, including the Hogwarts Express, Hagrid’s enchanted motor bike, the flying Ford Anglia and the Knight Bus.
Five Hogwarts professors feature on a set of further stamps presented in a miniature sheet: Pomona Sprout, Remus Lupin, Horace Slughorn, Sybil Trelawney and Severus Snape.
Eagle-eyed fans will notice the professors appear against a background of the Marauder’s Map – the magical parchment that reveals the current location of anyone on Hogwarts grounds.
If that weren’t exciting enough, the stamps allow you to cast a spell of your own (sort of). Each stamp contains “secret details” that can only be revealed under ultraviolet light, meaning you can impress your mates with a trick up your sleeve.
Commenting ahead of the launch, Philip Parker from Royal Mail said: “The Harry Potter movies continue to thrill and delight audiences of all ages. The goal with our stamps is to capture the excitement of the Wizarding World and the heroism of the students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.”
The stamps and a range of souvenir and limited edition products can be pre-ordered online now and are available on general sale from 7,000 post offices nationwide from October 16, 2018.
