How to Banish Cellulite!

Remember, cellulite has nothing to do with your size, you can be thin with cellulite too! It's all about the stuff you put into and onto your body. Start doing some of the things I suggest, and I promise you will save yourself a fortune on those silly creams AND be healthier at the same time!

That nasty orange peel effect on our skin, has plagued many of us women for years. Having spent a fortune on expensive anti-cellulite creams in the past, I have realised the hard way. They.do.not.rid.cellulite!! So what does?

Cellulite is toxic material accumulated in your body's fat cells. So, by eliminating toxins you can help to reduce, sometimes even diminish cellulite!

Toxins come in all forms, caffeine (sorry!) sugar, alcohol(double sorry!) air pollutants and parabens (ironically found in most women's beauty products!) Nowadays, there are a plethora of paraben/perfume/BPA free products on the market. Try companies like my personal favourites

The best way to rid these toxins is a) stop drinking/eating and using them! and b) eat more ANTIoxidants

Antioxidants are most frequently found in bright coloured fruits and vegetables including carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, mango and--in case you have an aversion to orange foods--broccoli, spinach, tomatoes, pink grapefruit and watermelon, avocado.

You have all heard of the SUPERFOOD craze? These potent group of foods have powerful ANTIoxidant properties, so load up on things like Goji berries, Kale, Chia seeds etc. (see more examples in my blog on superfoods http://www.amandabyram.com/the-supers/ )

Also, I know you've heard this over and over again... But drink plenty of water! Water flushes out the toxins that you have built up, and it will also help to keep your skin clear.

You can also help it by body brushing everyday before your shower. Your skin is the biggest organ in your body, it is the first place you will see signs of imbalance and deficiency, and when your body is toxic, your skin is the first place you will see effects. (think acne/eczema/stress bumps/heat rashes/cellulite)

Dry body brushing helps circulation to the skin and also lymphatic drainage. By releasing toxins, it encourages the body's discharge of metabolic wastes and the breakdown unwanted toxins, making your body operate much more efficiently. It helps to get rid of dead skin cells, resulting in new bright skin appearance! All it takes is a few minutes in the morning, a little time consuming I know, but if you make it a part of your routine, you won't notice it. Just use a body brush and start at your ankles, brushing upwards all the way to your heart. This will sweep out the toxins as you brush. Body Brushes can be found in any pharmacy, or you can buy a special kit from Mio Skincare here: http://www.mioskincare.co.uk/the-mio-body-brush.html
