If there’s one thing I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is brilliant at, it’s throwing together two big characters who’d likely never mix away from the jungle, and letting us watch on as they navigate difficult or ridiculous situations.
And within minutes of the new series launching on Sunday night, a new unlikely partnership had been created in the form of Caitlyn Jenner and Nadine Coyle.
The two became a duo viewers never knew they needed as they coached each other through a sky dive as part of their first challenge.
Well... when we say they coached each other, it was very much Caitlyn pulling Nadine through the trauma of it all.
The former Girls Aloud singer started to get emotional as she prepared to plunge 10,000ft out of a plane, but was supported by Caitlyn, who told her: “It’ll be the greatest experience of your life, when it’s over you’ll say it was great.”
The US star said she was keen to try to jump herself because many members of her famous family had done it.
“Kendall [Jenner] has skydived, Kim [Kardashian] has and I think Kourtney (Kardashian) has. I’m gonna do this, everyone in my family has done it,” she said.
Caitlyn went first and was all smiles as she landed, but her partner remained firmly on her mind.
“That was so much fun, I want to do it all again, I just want Nadine to get down and be OK,” she said.
After a nervous Nadine landed, she told Caitlyn she’d found the experience “amazing”, before the pair shared a hug.
“I’m so proud of you,” Caitlyn told Nadine.
Their blossoming friendship was one of the highlights of the launch episode over on Twitter...
A later part of the challenge set Nadine and Caitlyn pitted against each other, as they competed to be a “power pair” who would be sent to a camp with better food and sleeping arrangements.
Ultimately, it was Nadine, Adele Roberts, Roman Kemp and Myles Stephenson who won, with the remaining campmates sent to Snake Rock, where they will live off rice and beans and sleep on the floor.
The public later selected Caitlyn and Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway to face the first Bushtucker Trial of the series.
