He said in a statement:

“It’s been a tough decision to leave 'You’re Fired'.

“I’d like to thank the Apprentice team, BBC2, the candidates and the ‘big man’ Lord Sugar himself for making me feel so welcome but now, in keeping with the Apprentice tradition, I am firing myself.

“Good luck with the next series.”

Jack is certainly in demand, currently juggling hosting duties on BBC Radio 4’s ‘I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue’ with his role in Josh Widdicombe’s self-titled sitcom. His BBC Two comedy ‘Jack Dee’s Help Desk’ is also set to return.

Dara O Briain stayed in the role for five years. The new host has yet to be announced for the show, which analyses the events of that week’s ‘The Apprentice’.
