Jon Stewart Returns To Roast Donald Trump On 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert'

The king hath returned.

Ladies and gentlemen, the master of political satire has returned.

Just in time to obliterate Donald Trump and the Republican National Convention after he was formally selected as their presidential candidate.

Popping up from under the table, beloved former ‘Daily Show’ host Jon Stewart took over ‘The Late Show’ from Stephen Colbert to deliver a scathing nine minutes of pure comedic fire.

Donning a clip-on tie and blazer over his plain grey t-shirt, Stewart wasted no time and jumped right in to attacking the Republican Party and Fox News for their hypocrisy throughout Trump’s campaign.

“You just want that person to give you your country back, because you feel that you are this country’s rightful owners,” Stewart said, seemingly addressing the right wing media in the US directly.

“The only problem with that: this country isn’t yours. You don’t own it. It never was. There is no ‘real’ America.

“You don’t own it. You don’t own patriotism. You don’t own Christianity. You sure as hell don’t own respect for the bravery and sacrifice of military, police, and firefighters. Trust me!

“I saw a lot of people on the convention floor in Cleveland with their ‘Blue Lives Matter’ rhetoric who either remained silent or actively fought against the 9/11 first responders’ bill reauthorisation,” he continued. “I see you, and I see your bullshit!”

Stewart’s trademark triggering of the censors prompted ‘Late Show’ host Stephen Colbert to pop back up and regain control of his desk, offering us another glimpse of the duo we all know and love.

Please come back again soon, Jon.
