Katie Price has been criticised by a judge for showing “a lack of respect for the whole court system” after failing to turn up to court.
The media personality was due to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning, having been accused of threatening behaviour outside a school.
She is facing two charges of using threatening and abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in the village of Shipley, West Sussex, in September last year.
Sussex Police said there had been a verbal altercation outside a primary school.
However, Katie did not appear in court, while she continues to enjoy a holiday in Thailand with on-off boyfriend Kris Boyson.
District Judge Amanda Kelly told the court: “She hasn’t bothered to turn up today. Apparently she has something more important to do.”
As heard by the court, Katie has been informed of the need for her to attend the hearing, and were also informed she had not turned up to police interviews about the matter.
The district judge responded: “This shows a lack of respect for the whole court system”, adding that while it would be “tempting” to consider an arrest warrant, she was not going to do that as the penalty for the offence was a fine.
She said she would “reluctantly” adjourn the hearing until next week.
Katie is apparently due back in the country on 18 March, with her case now set to be heard on 20 March.
This will mark the third time Katie has been in court this year.
Last month, she was given another driving ban, having been convicted of being nearly twice the limit while driving her pink Range Rover.
In January, she was banned after admitting driving while disqualified. She was also ordered to pay fines for the unrelated offences.
