Kesha has claimed that Dr Luke has stopped her from performing at this year’s Billboard Music Awards.

Last week, it was reported that Kesha was among the performers at this year’s ceremony, where Justin Bieber, Britney Spears and Ariana Grande will also be taking to the stage.

However, she’s now accused her music producer - with whom she is currently in the midst of an ongoing legal battle - of putting the brakes on her performance, which would have seen her performing a classic Bob Dylan track.

She wrote: “I was very excited to perform a tribute to Bob Dylan by singing a cover of 'It ain't me, babe' at the Billboard awards this year. I'm very sad and sorry to say I won't be allowed to do this.”

Kesha went on to insist that the planned performance was in no way related to her legal troubles involving Dr Luke, continuing: “I was never going to use a picture of him, speak of him or allude to my legal situation in any way. I simply wanted to sing a song I love to honor an artist I have always looked up to.”

The ‘We R Who We R’ singer is currently trying to leave her contract with Dr Luke’s Kemosabe record label, a division of Sony Records, having also accused him of sexual and emotional abuse, which he has vehemently denied.

Earlier this year, a judge ruled that Kesha would not be allowed to break free from the label, and is currently legally obligated to release a further six albums before she can record elsewhere.

She did recently release her first single since the legal battle began, ‘True Colors’, a collaboration with DJ and music producer, Zedd, who previously worked with Lady Gaga and Selena Gomez.
