Kesha has been thrown a lifeline amid her recent legal battle, with a reported cameo appearance on ‘Nashville’.
The ‘TiK ToK’ singer was recently told by a judge that she would be unable to break free from her contract with a divison of Sony Records headed by Dr Luke, her long-time music producer, who she has accused of sexual and emotional abuse, claims he has vehemently denied.
While she’s currently forbidden from recording or releasing any music away from his label, The Hollywood Reporter have said that we can at least look forward to seeing her on the small screen, playing herself in a new episode of the musical series, ‘Nashville’.
The site has claimed that Kesha is one of three stars - alongside Kelsea Ballerini and Thomas Rhett - being lined up for cameo appearances in future episodes of the show.
‘Nashville’ centres around a string of fictional country singers, and regularly features musical performances, in the style of shows like ‘Empire’, ‘Glee’ and ‘Smash’.
Kesha has something of a history with country music already, as her mum, Pebe Sebert, is a country singer, who co-wrote ‘Old Flames Can’t Hold A Candle To You’, mostly famously recorded by Dolly Parton.
She even recorded her own version of the track on her last EP, ‘Deconstructed’, released in 2012.
Since the ruling was made last month, a number of female stars have publicly come out in support of Kesha, including Lady Gaga, who has highlighted Kesha’s plight on a number of occasions, and Adele, who took the opportunity to back her during her acceptance speech at the Brit Awards.
