Lena Dunham and her 'Girls' co-stars have created a video encouraging people to show their support for survivors of sexual assault.
The message of the video, which also features Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke and Zosia Mamet, is to "support, listen and take action" against sexual assault, instead of victim-blaming.
In the clip, Williams says showing support can be as easy as making a phone call to someone you know has been affected, while Dunham adds: "Just being there makes it better."
As well as helping to change public perceptions around rape and sexual assault, the actresses hope the video will empower survivors to report crimes.
Dunham shared the video on Twitter, saying: "I dedicate this to the brave survivor in the Stanford case who has given so much to change the conversation."
The survivor Dunham is referring to, who is known by the pseudonym of ‘Emily Doe’ to conceal her privacy, recently penned a powerful statement to Brock Allen Turner, the man found guilty of assaulting her.
“You took away my worth, my privacy, my energy, my time, my intimacy, my confidence, my own voice, until today," she said.
"And now we both have a choice. We can let this destroy us, I can remain angry and hurt and you can be in denial, or we can face it head on, I accept the pain, you accept the punishment, and we move on."
