Lidl’s Scotch Whisky Named One Of The Best In The World – And It Costs Just £13.50

If you’re a whisky drinker, budget supermarket Lidl might not be your first port of call when you’re shopping for a decent bottle. But that could be about to change.

Lidl’s Queen Margot Whisky has been awarded a spot in the in ‘Scotch Blended 12 Years & Under’ at the World Whiskies Awards, which is judged by more than 40 industry experts.

It’s especially great news for the budget conscious, with a 70cl bottle of the stuff costing just £13.49.

The 8 year blended Scotch whisky is infused with aromas of dried apricot and plum. Lidl says this gives a “rich sweetness and depth of flavour”.

Whilst currently not available online, you can pick up a bottle in stores nationwide.

It’s been a good week for the alcohol aisle in Lidl, not only scooping up this award, but also taking home the title of Best Own Brand Gin Supermarket at Year at Gin Magazine’s Icons of Gin awards. Not too shabby if you ask us.
