Looks like people have worked out who "H" is already (sort of).

It might have been serious business as usual when Line Of Duty returned for its fifth series on Sunday night, but that didn’t stop the hilarity unfolding over on Twitter.

The show’s spectacular opening episode got everyone talking on social media, as AC-12 began investigating the organised crime group we discovered were operating at the end of the last series.

Here’s how Twitter perfectly summed up all the goings on...

1. The show’s advertising campaign in the lead up to the new series had really annoyed those who had been with it from the start

2. As well as sinking their teeth into a brand new case, people were also ready for a good game of bingo

3. Within minutes, Hastings ticked one straight off the list

4. Having him back on the case of bent coppers also inspired this incredible meme

5. The state of his personal life became the source of amusement for some

6. While Arnott continued to be someone you probably wouldn’t be mates with IRL

7. DS Flemming’s promotion might have been low-key, but it didn’t go completely unnoticed

8. The constant use of acronyms got confusing to say the least

9. While we wish we had the whole series to binge right now, we’re also kinda grateful our sleeping pattern wasn’t destroyed

10. The interrogation scenes made a welcome return, even if there was one aspect to them that seemed to go on forever

11. Everyone at home was acting like they were a member of AC-12 themselves

12. With some boasting that they had the whole “who is H?” plot already sewn up

13. Others were at pains to point out the shared history Flemming and Corbett have

14. And as the titles rolled, we got to hear that spine-tingling theme again. What a composition

Line Of Duty continues on Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
