My Job Is The Love Of My Life, Is Yours?

As a girl, I grew up reading stories of women being rescued, looked after, and generally depending on finding a mate to feel complete or whole. I was living in New York City, single, landed my own dream job and was supporting myself. I built my own support network of friends and co-workers who became like family and just went for it at work.

Why loving your job can make you happier, find great friends and maybe even Mr Right.

You know the feeling of butterflies when the person you're keen on gives you that first signal that they like you too? You feel giddy, full of life and like anything is possible? I remember that feeling specifically after getting a text from my now husband the morning after our first date and for the glorious few months during our new courtship. What if I told you it's possible to get that same thrill through your work too?

I'm a firm believer that the energy you put out is directly correlated to what you get back in life. It's why, when you love what you do - you can achieve a better work/life balance. When you do what you are passionate about and love it, you worry less about separating work and life. Your work is important, satisfying and it's all living! You will also attract the kind of people romantically and socially that respect and support your love of your career, which enriches your life even further.

The past 20 years have taught me that the best way to control your destiny is to design it. Find something you are passionate about. Make sure your passion is relevant for people other than you, as to create a commercially successful business, people will care about your passion (and buy your product or service), only if it's valuable to them. For me, it was using my experience healing myself through plant-based foods and cold pressed juices. I was super passionate about creating a convenient way to consume cold pressed juices so people could proactively fill up their bodies with delicious organic vegetables without all the sugar from fruit juice. Before investing and launching my business, I spent a great deal of time validating the idea. I made juices for friends, friends of friends and complete strangers. I did it all for feedback about how the juices made them feel, how they were using them in their life and did they want more of them? It wasn't until I had a strong sense of what my target customer needed and wanted that I officially launched Plenish.

I can proudly say that my career, with Plenish as the pinnacle has been the absolute love of my life. It's given me the confidence, financial freedom and satisfaction that has helped me exude the energy to attract fantastic people, my husband included to my life. I can also guarantee that when you create a business from scratch - and you have wins big or small, you will feel like you can do anything. When I got the email from Waitrose last year that our juices would go into their stores, the only thing I could equate the feeling to was the butterflies I got when my husband first text me. I wish I could bottle the feeling and put it on a supermarket shelf next to our juices.

Go find your passion. Make sure you turn that passion into something (be it a service or product) that adds value to other people's lives and get building your destiny.
