Nicole Scherzinger has spoken out to clarify what she muttered to Tess Daly during this weekend’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ live show.
Many viewers speculated that the former ‘X Factor’ judge had some sort of beef with Tess when the ‘Strictly’ host squeezed in next to her in the audience on Saturday night.
Nicole, who was at the live show to cheer on her former Pussycat Dolls bandmate Ashley Roberts, appeared to look less than impressed and was seen saying something under her breath to Tess at the start of the link.
But according to Nicole, she’d simply made a comment about Tess’s dress (as we predicted in our earlier story).
On Sunday, Nicole tweeted the explanation and added that “Tess Daly can sit as close to me as she likes”.
Nicole’s comment is in response to some viewers who had wrongly suggested that she had told Tess she was sitting too close to her.
Despite all the hoo-ha, Nicole appeared to be something of a lucky charm for Ashley, whose jaw-dropping Charleston scored 39 points.
Steps star Faye Tozer had plenty to celebrate too after also scoring 39 points with her theatre/jazz routine.
Both scores were the highest of the series so far and unsurprisingly saw Ashley and Faye topping the leaderboard.
Meanwhile, Seann Walsh became the fifth celebrity to leave the competition on Sunday night when he and his dance partner Katya Jones lost out to Graeme Swann in the dance off.
