Piers Morgan was welcomed back to Good Morning Britain with the ultimate throwback on Monday, as bosses reminded him and Susanna Reid of the moment they first met.
The pair were shown a clip of their first TV appearance together, which came years before they were paired up on the ITV breakfast show in 2015.
In fact, it took place on the rival programme BBC Breakfast in 2005, when Susanna was still a presenter on it.
Piers and Susanna found plenty to comment on as they watched the clip, which saw Piers appear on the BBC Breakfast sofa talking about First News, which he was then the executive editor of.
“Susanna’s body language is quite interesting,” Piers joked. “Really quite flirtatious. Lots of leaning in towards me.”
“And you’re mansplaying in return!” correspondent Richard Arnold interjected, noting how he was sat.
After Piers mocked the way Susanna spoke, she said: “I think we both sound so much posher there!”
She added: “He looks like Colin Firth. With your raffish open-necked shirt.
“So it is true we did once meet in a television studio all those years ago. It’s a good memory that I completely deleted from my memory bank.”
Piers and Susanna were reunited on Monday after he had enjoyed a couple of weeks off.
Last week saw Susanna team up with her former BBC Breakfast co-presenter Bill Turnbull, who stood in for Piers.
Bill and Susanna worked together until she defected to ITV to launch GMB in 2014.
